Breast Surgery And The Middle East

I came across some mentions of a study conducted by Clinique on Arab women recently and was pleasantly surprised to learn that the cosmetic giant found them to possess the youngest and healthiest skin in the world. Unfortunately I couldn’t find the original study and have no way of knowing whether this is true or not.

The reasons stated in the reports were very convincing though and brought me to a similar campaign that the Unilever brand Dove conducted as part of their global Campaign for Real Beauty.

The study discovered that at least 30 percent of Saudi women would consider plastic surgery in the future placing the country on the same levels as Brazil, Argentina and Mexico.

Breast augmentation, surprisingly, is one of the more popular plastic surgery procedures in the Middle East. In Lebanon, nearing the beach season, the demands for breast surgery are noticed to be on the rise. There are some things that just don’t change.

You could be a housewife in LA or a rich sheikh’s wife in the Middle East, but the motivations for breast augmentation surgery and other cosmetic modifications don’t really change. The desire to look good and feel great is a common denominator among women in any society and country.
