Breast Augmentation, Now Offered By Your Cancer Doctor

This should be good news for breast cancer patients. If nothing else, at least the women who are operated for breast cancer will be assured about the quality they will be getting.

There is a surge in the number of cancer surgeons opting for a specialty training in plastic surgery techniques being noticed in the U.S. Tying the two fields seems like one of those ideas that are always hovering about never seem to strike.

Earlier, things were much harder for breast cancer patients.

After a lumpectomy or a mastectomy, women were either referred to another doctor for a reconstructive breast surgery or they had the option of having a breast augmentation at a later date. By combining these two procedures, doctors not only are assuring women that they will be taken care of by one surgeon but they are also presenting them with a good way of juggling finances.

A special term is applied to refer to this type of surgery- 'oncoplastic surgery' but as of today, there is no special certification offered to surgeons who specialize in it. To know whether your surgeon is proficient in oncoplastic surgery, you can get in touch with the consultants at the Plastic Surgery Institute of California.

Our advanced surgical institute for corrective breast surgery in Orange County and California is AAAHC certified and is equipped with a staff affiliated with the ASPS as members.
